What does Hypnosis feel like? Clients Share:
"Hypnosis feels like a massage for the mind, but the relaxed feeling seems to last longer."
"I felt my dad's arms around my shoulders for the first time! I could hear him telling me how proud he was of my success." Note: this client's father passed away when he was an infant
"In hypnosis I feel floaty. It feels like my intuition is in a higher state. I can think with more clarity."
"While hypnotized, I felt like I was watching a movie where I could objectively see what the main character (me!) should do. I felt so wise!"
"My mind never shuts up! The first time I was hypnotized I kept thinking, "am I hypnotized?" because I still felt in control. My mind was focused and my body was lethargic feeling, but I still felt in control."
"While hypnotized I felt tingly and completely pain free. The suggestion for pain relief lasted following the surgery. I was able to naturally cut back on painkillers." Note: a doctor's release is required prior to hypnotherapy for pain management.
"I felt as if I was floating and could see myself as a kid hanging out with my High School buddies. I felt empowered as I told that kid (myself) not to start smoking, and he listened!" Note: this client quit a 2 pack a day habit after 2 sessions.
"It feels great - you'll love it!"
"It feels like those times when you are right between awake and asleep."

Medical Disclaimer
I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist, certified by the American Board of Hypnotherapy and National Guild of Hypnotists.
I do not attempt to treat or diagnose disease or mental disorders of any kind. Hypnosis in no way replaces
standard medical procedures, but works in conjunction with them by freeing the patient of feelings or attitudes
that may be inhibiting his or her natural immunizing or other vital processes. Hypnosis helps to create strong
mental expectancy and reduces stress, thereby normalizing the action of the autonomic nervous system.
Hypnosis for certain effects or symptoms of diagnosed physical or mental illness, such as pain or addiction,
requires a referral from a licensed physician or psychiatrist to determine underlying causes. Call for your free
consultation and to receive a physician referral form if needed.

Hypnotherapy Session - FAQ
Initial consultations are free and are done over the phone. Daris offers this free
consultation to allow you to briefly discuss your goals, challenges and expectations,
and to determine how hypnosis and coaching may help you specifically. Then, if we
choose to work together, we'll book your first session.
What should I expect for my first hypnotherapy session?
You should allow just over 50 minutes, a portion of which you will be in hypnosis or
guided imagery. First, we'll discuss what you'd like to accomplish and what you feel
are your biggest challenges to success. I'll be able to explain what hypnosis is and
demonstrate what it feels like for you to be hypnotized so you'll have an idea of what
to expect. Since all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, you will need to allow the process to
happen.
What are your office location and hours?
Arnold YWCA Building, second floor, 1517 Ritchie Hwy, Arnold, MD 21012.
Office hours by appointment only. Please call 443-569-2014 for appointment.
What does hypnosis feel like?
It feels different for each person. There is no one "hypnotized feeling", and no two
people experience hypnosis the same. For example, in a state of hypnosis some
individuals feel heavy and dreamy, some light and tingly or as if they are floating,
some very calm, relaxed and inwardly focused. You will hear everything and are
always in control.
What will I feel like following Hypnosis?
You are likely to feel very relaxed with renewed energy and a general sense
of wellness. Many clients are surprised how calm and focused they feel that day
or how well they seem to sleep that night. Some clients who have come to see me
to heal from a traumatic experience are surprised to find that the old emotions
seemed to quickly fade away, leaving them feeling hopeful and happier.
How many sessions will I need?
That varies widely and is dependant upon what you're wishing to work on and the
complexity of your goals or issues. We can decided what would be best for you
during your first session.
Does Insurance cover Hypnotherapy?
Although the American Medical Association (AMA) has endorsed Hypnotherapy
since 1958, insurance companies do not presently reimburse for hypnosis.
What is the cost for each Hypnotherapy Session?
Hypnotherapy is cost effective as it often requires far fewer sessions than talk
therapies! My fee is $80 per each 50 minute session. You may also chose to book
the NLP Rapid Change 90 minute session ($120). Hypnotherapy & Coaching
Package Prices are available.
