Medical Disclaimer
I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist, certified by the American Board of Hypnotherapy and National Guild of Hypnotists.
I do not attempt to treat or diagnose disease or mental disorders of any kind. Hypnosis in no way replaces
standard medical procedures, but works in conjunction with them by freeing the patient of feelings or attitudes
that may be inhibiting his or her natural immunizing or other vital processes. Hypnosis helps to create strong
mental expectancy and reduces stress, thereby normalizing the action of the autonomic nervous system.
Hypnosis for certain effects or symptoms of diagnosed physical or mental illness, such as pain or addiction,
requires a referral from a licensed physician or psychiatrist to determine underlying causes. Call for your free
consultation and to receive a physician referral form if needed.

Hypnosis happens to all of us, and in everyday life.
Have you ever driven to a familiar destination and found yourself wondering how
you got there? Maybe you've been engrossed in a book or movie to such extent
that outside distractions seemed far away and unimportant. You were in a
naturally occurring state of alpha brainwave, or a light hypnotic trance.
Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy take place in the awake, but deeply relaxed and
meditative state of Alpha or deeper, dreamier state of Theta brain waves. It
isn't sleep, but its effects can be quite restorative and re-energizing.
These brain waves allow us to access the subconscious mind in analytical
and therapeutic hypnosis to create lasting change. Try Hypnosis! It is
clinically proven effective for many, many uses.
Hypnosis is the ultimate form of stress-relief! Much of our day is spent in
Beta brain waves states, fully awake and alert with most of our focus directed to
the outside world. Unfortunately, Beta is also the state of mind associated
with stress, irritability, anger, anxiety, depression and worry.
Excessive Beta waves weaken the immune system and can cause insomnia.
In Hypnosis, Alpha brainwaves allow for greater creativity and
super-learning with the brain able to process and memorize information more
quickly. Deeper hypnosis with itsTheta brainwaves may heighten
problem solving, insight and increase motivation. Athletes have been
shown to have bursts of alpha brainwaves just before moments of high
performance.
All hypnosis is considered self-hypnosis, because you have to allow the process
to happen. Over 95% of the population has the ability for hypnosis. If you are
wondering just how hypnotizable you may be, take this quick Hypnotizability
Self-Assessment.
How will you know you were Hypnotized during a session? Hypnosis
feels different for each person; there is no singular "hypnotized feeling". You
may find your eyes feel so heavy that you they just won't want to open, even
though a part of you knew you could. You were listening to - and agreeing with-
a comfortable hypnotic suggestion; a suggestion that your subconscious mind
liked, accepted, and acted upon. You may find that you feel effortless comfort
and peace and have flashes of vivid imagery. Some people say they feel as if
they are floating or tingling; some feel as if the relaxation is greater and longer
lasting than a massage.
Daris teaches simple, easy to use self-hypnosis techniques that empower you to
quickly change your own mental, emotional or physical states. Just as with
playing the piano, practice - and a good teacher - makes perfect.
What is Hypnosis?
- a naturally occurring state of mind.
- awakened state of focused attention.
- rapport with your unconscious.
- heightened suggestibility.
- the ultimate display of self-control.
- a loss of self-control.
- sleep or a state of unconsciousness.
- mind control by someone else.
- heightened suggestibility.
- being weak-minded.
Hypnosis refers to the alpha or theta trance state itself, and hypnotism refers to the act of inducing this state and to the study of this state.
A hypnotist is someone who induces the state of hypnosis, and a hypnotherapist is a person who induces hypnosis for vocational and avocational self improvement and therapeutic effect.
